If your E-bike’s brake power cutoff is not working (when holding the throttle and lightly squeezing the brake, the motor does not stop), you can follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
I.Preparation #
Prepare two different colored tape stickers (as shown in the picture).”
II.Important Notes #
1、When unplugging the brake cutoff wires, make sure to grab the connector (as shown in picture 1), not the wire itself. The incorrect method is shown in picture 2. Grabbing the wire may cause it to break.
2、When unplugging each waterproof connector, make sure to align the arrows before reinserting. Insert them horizontally and vertically, as shown in the picture.
III.Troubleshooting Steps #
1、With the power on, press the throttle and gently squeeze both brake levers one by one. Observe the motor’s behavior. The side where the motor continues to run while the brake is being squeezed is the side where the brake cut-off function is not working (as shown in the picture).
2、Remove the wrapping around the brake cut-off wires (as shown in the picture).
3、Locate the two brake cut-off wires and mark the connectors. For example: use a white sticker for the left brake cut-off and a red sticker for the right brake cut-off (as shown in the picture).
4、Turn off the power, then swap the connectors of the brake cut-off wires with different colored markings. Insert the white sticker male connector into the red sticker female connector, and the red sticker male connector into the white sticker female connector (as shown in the picture).
5、Turn the power back on, then press the throttle and gently squeeze the brake. If the brake that was previously not cutting off still doesn’t stop the motor when squeezed (motor continues to work), it confirms that the brake cut-off wire is faulty. If the previously faulty brake now works (motor stops when squeezed), but the other brake’s cut-off wire is still faulty (motor continues to work when squeezed), it indicates that the 1T4 brake cut-off wire connector is damaged.
